Some of the more common uses are:

  • Lice

Many believe that using Tea Tree Oil for acne is the perfect thing to do. One of the main reason for this is that it kills off P-acne (Propionibacterium acnes), which is the bacteria that when making contact with your skin will form pimples.

One of the first things you need to be aware of when using this herb is that it is very strong. This means that it might cause reactions on your skin like redness, swelling and irritation. Many people simply cannot tolerate it at full dose.

The best thing to do is to apply a small patch of the herb Oil on the inside of your elbow and wait for two to three hours to see if there is a reaction.

If there is an obvious reaction, cut the 100% pure in half so you are using 50% and try another test patch. If that does not work then try starting at a small amount of dilution as most people can tolerate this strength.

Diluted application

Most people find they have no problems at all if they use a 5% Tea Tree Oil solution. This means 5 parts Tea Tree Oil and 95 parts water (5 drops TTO and 95 drops water)

How to Use Tea Tree Oil for Acne

Wash you face gently and do not scrub. Also do not use a moisturizing soap or a foaming soap. Using a cleanser for your face that has no soap is probably the best as it will not dry out your skin. Never wash your face more than twice a day it only makes matters worse.

Pat your face dry and wait for ten to fifteen minutes. Take the TTO and using a cotton swab dip it into the solution.

Apply to each area of acne inflammation. Treat all the pimples, white heads, black heads and any other stages with the oil because they do all contain the P-acne bacteria that are responsible for the acne in the first place.

For those big formed pimples you can try a spot treatment

60 drops Jojoba Oil 20 drops Lavender Oil 20 drops Tea Tree Oil

Place the three oils in a clean glass container. Leave it sit for ten minutes then agitate it gently to mix and roll in your palms for five minutes. Use a cotton swab or cotton ball and dab each pimple.

Now Tea Tree Oil has a strong pungent smell and you may think you should rinse it off, but do not! Leave it on so it has the time it needs to kill the bacteria.

Use this treatment every day, morning and night until the acne is gone.

Once the acne is gone you can use a tea tree oil wash, which is simply to put 5-8 drops into water and wash your face with it twice a day.

Remember that Tea Tree Oil is strong and you should test it out on your skin first. Also it is important to make sure that you buy pure 100% Tea Tree Oil and that not everything sold out there is good stuff. Some companies will add things as fillers and it will really irritate your skin.
